More than just Farmland

UK Farmland provides much of our food - meat, cereals and vegetables - while hedges, copses and rough ground are habitats and natural corridors for wildlife. More than 75% of the UK is devoted to farmland, so the way it is managed is vital to the health of our environment. The agricultural sector supports more than 300,000 jobs and in 2011 farming contributed more than £7.4 billion to the UK economy. 2020VISION's main farmland assignments, at Hope Farm in Cambridgeshire and Denmark Farm in Wales, demonstrate that farms can be profitable businesses and also valuable wildlife habitats, when taken out of intensive management.
