More than just a Heath

Heaths often serve as a buffer zone, connecting people to their surroundings. They provide a home for a rich variety of specialist wildlife and are important to local people for leisure activities and tourism. Lowland heath is an internationally rare and unique habitat - 20% of the world's remaining heathland is in the UK. Heathlands are the product of man's activities over the centuries and require careful management. 2020VISION's key heathland projects were the Suffolk Sandlings Living Landscapes project and the restoration of the North Hampshire heaths.
