Most of the UK was originally covered in broadleaved woodland, and 2020VISION aims to show ways in which Britain's forest remnants are being reconnected, providing rich habitats for a large variety of animal and bird species, huge environmental benefits and outstanding recreational opportunities for people. In spite of being an island nation, more British people escape each year to the forest than to the seaside.
