After an absence of 350 years, wild boar are now again well established in several counties, with a UK population of more than 1000. Andy Rouse photographed wild boar for 2020VISION in the Forest of Dean, which holds a thriving population of this elusive animal. The reintroduction of wild boar to the UK (through escapes from farms) is somewhat controversial. Some claim that they contribute to habitat degradation, while others maintain that their rooting encourages forest regeneration.
