Many species of shark are threatened by over-fishing and bycatch fishing. It is estimated that each year more than 36 million sharks are killed for their fins and that more than a third of open ocean shark species are categorised as threatened, vulnerable or endangered.
This past quarter we have been supporting Bite-Back, a charity which campaigns on behalf of sharks. Our donation will go towards their campaign to stop restaurants in the UK serving shark-fin soup. Each quarter we donate 1% of our nett sales to a conservation project, so each image licensed from us helps fund conservation work.
