By appropriately recycling our waste, we also reduce the demand for natural resources and by re-using the materials we already have instead of creating new ones, we reduce the amount of energy used and levels of pollution. Recycling also reduces the amount of waste which is sent to landfill or is incinerated, both of which are expensive process requiring large amounts of land.
