In 1979, Eric BACCEGA bought his first camera and photography quickly became his passion. From childhood his dream was to explore the great wildernesses of our planet. At first he concentrated on wide open spaces and wildlife, especially bears, but later Eric became equally interested in ethnic groups and was fascinated by men and women whose culture is the opposite of ours. From polar bears to the Himba people in Namibia, from Chinese giant pandas to the tribes of the Omo Valley in Ethiopia, from the great hamster in Alsace to the Nenets of Siberia, Eric aims to tell their unique stories through photography. He is committed to showing the varied richness of life on earth in order to better encourage its conservation.
