Cette année encore les photographes de NPL se sont distingués dans les compétitions internationales de photographie nature 2017. Pål Hermansen a remporté le grand prix toutes catégories du concours UICN Terre Sauvage Nature Images Awards . Erlend Haarberg est co-lauréat du GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Au concours Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Tony Wu a remporté le prix de la catégorie comportement mammifère, alors que Ben Hall, Ross Hoddinott, Andrew Parkinson et Alex Hyde sont tous lauréats dans leur catégorie au British Wildlife Photography Awards. Theo Bosboom a remporté deux catégories au GDT. Bence Maté est 3ème au World press, Sven Zacek, David Pattyn et Nayan Khanolkar ont tous été gagnants dans leur catégorie au UICN Terre Sauvage Nature Images Awards.
