A wide variety of fluorescent minerals including scheelite (blue/white), calcite (red), silica coatings containing uranyl ions (green), fluorite (pink), and 'desert varnish' (yellow/orange), populate some of the mine tailings near Darwin, California, November. Taken with short wave ultraviolet light to illuminate the scene during a 20 minute long exposure.
