One of the two principal 2020VISION marine assignments focused on the value of marine nature tourism to the UK economy. The Moray Firth dolphins are estimated to be worth more than 4 million annually to the local tourism economy, while the Bass Rock gannetry and the Scottish Seabird Centre are important to the economy of North Berwick on the Firth of Forth. The Inner Hebrides are also a marine tourism hotspot, with sea eagles nesting on the Isle of Skye and basking sharks offshore in the summer months.
