Rick grew up on the Isle of Man where he established a serious interest in sailing. While crewing aboard Simon le Bon's yacht ^Drum^ during the Whitbread Round the World race, Rick built up his first photographic portfolio, redefining onboard photography with his trademark slow exposure night-time shots of the Southern Ocean.
