James Cook University's Susan Laurance - Tropical Leader at the Centre for Tropical Environmental and Sustainability Studies and College of Marine and Environmental Sciences leads the Daintree Drought Experiment in far north Queensland. The experiement combines the efforts of plant physiologists, ecologists, soil experts, climatologists and hydrologists, the ambitious goal is to assess the varying responses of plants to drought, from their roots to the highest pinnacles oftheforest.
