Markus Varesvuo est un un photographe naturaliste majeur en Finlande où il magnifie les oiseaux depuis plus de 25 ans. Passionné d’ornithologie depuis son enfance, il est passé professionnel à plein temps depuis qu’il a gagné le prix du Wildlife Photographer of the Year en 2004. Depuis il a aussi été primé au World Press Photo dans la catégorie nature, tout comme au GDT European Wildlife photographer of the year. Il produit la majorité de ses images en Finlande, notamment les oiseaux du nord de l’Europe. Spécialiste de l'hiver et de la photographie d'oiseaux en action, c'est un adepte de la lumière naturelle. Il est membre fondateur du site www.birdphoto.fi. Ses photos ont fait la couverture d'innombrables magazines dans le monde entier. Il a publié de nombreux livres et participé à plusieurs expositions. Makus est un ambassadeur de la marque Canon.
