Two Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) breaching, Moray Firth, Inverness-shire, Scotland, UK, August. Photographer quote: 'After several frustrating hours with too short a lens and dolphins too far out when they jumped, I switched to my longest long long lens. And the dolphins obliged by immediately leaping too too close to the shore! Giving me shots of bits of heads and fragments of tails! I swear they watched me groaning, and went off chuckling. Too clever dolphins!' Did you know? The bottlenose dolphins of the Moray Firth in Scotland are the most northerly resident pod in the world.
