Description
A vaccinator prepares to clip the fur of a European badger (Meles meles) in a cage trap after vaccinating it against TB. North Somerset, UK. The clipped area will be sprayed with a dye to indicate that the badger has been vaccinated in case it is trapped again. Badger vaccination programmes are being carried out in England as a means of controlling the spread of TB between badgers and cattle, and as a viable alternative to the controversial government-sanctioned cull of badgers.
