Birds squabbling over fish in the Msicadzi River. Pink-backed pelican (Pelecanus rufescens) biting at the head of another pelican with a pouch full of fish while a marabou stork (Leptoptilos crumenifer) also arrives. Great egrets (Ardea alba), yellow-billed storks (Mycteria ibis), and grey herons (Ardea cinerea) stand nearby. Msicadzi River, Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique. During the dry season many water sources dry up trapping fish in smaller areas. Many birds and crocodiles gather to feed on this abundant food source.
