Caption
Eurasian oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus) incubating in a nesting tray. These nest platforms were originally put up (early - mid 20th century) to provide a supply of fresh eggs. Now they are part of an anti-predator conservation breeding programme. Originally put up to 'farm' gulls eggs; other species have now taken advantage of the safe nest sites.
