Description
Partly thanks to the local beliefs and food taboo the Bonobo (Pan paniscus) population has survived in this area. One belief is that is a newborn bathes with a Bonobo bone (found in forest from naturally dead animal) then it will pass on power to the child for life and the bone is passed down from generation to generation. North of Bandundu Province, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
