Nature Picture Library photographers enjoyed great success in 2012 in the world's leading wildlife and nature photography competitions. Ingo Arndt won the Fritz Polking portfolio award in the German GDT competition, Ole Jorgen Liodden won the Animals in Environment category of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, and Cheryl-Samantha Owen and Nick Upton won second and third prizes in the Mankind and Nature portfolio section of the French Melvita Nature Awards. Other commendations and awards came from Nature's Best in the USA, the Lux Awards in Spain and the British Wildlife Photographer Awards.
