The late Nick Gordon was an accomplished wildlife film-maker who fell in love with the Amazon.
He recalls the first time he entered a tropical rainforest: ^That was it. I simply fell in love with the heat, the humidity, the snakes, the insects, the animals, the natives. I knew I couldn't leave it. I was a rainforest man.^
Gordon worked for Anglia's wildlife series Survival for over a decade, making many notable programmes including Creatures of the magic water (1995), Web of the spider monkey (1996) and Gremlins: Faces in the Forest (1998). He has also published three books - Tarantulas, Marmosets and other Stories (1997), In the Heart of the Amazon (2002) and Wild Amazon (2007).
Gordon says his life changed the first time he encountered a wild jaguar: ^It was the spark that ignited a long and passionate affair that would keep me within its grasp for the next decade^. Over the course of seven years Gordon dedicated his life to documenting wild jaguars, resulting in the film for which he is best known - Jaguar - Eater of Souls (2001).
