Spangled tubeshoulder (Persparsia kopua) portrait. It has a unique shoulder organ - a sac filled with luminescent fluid located behind the gills. When threatened, this fish can release the fluid to distract predators, observed during RV Sonne, Cruise SO285, in the South Atlantic, Benguela upwelling region off the coast of South Africa and Namibia.Captive.
