Menorca is a diver's paradise. The island sits on a shelf adjacent to very deep waters, resulting in a unique marine environment. Some of the most diverse underwater life in the Mediterranean can be found on its rocky reefs and submarine walls, and in magnificent caves. But these azure and tranquil waters hold a deadly secret. Littered across the seabed, shipwrecks bear testimony to the darker, stormier side of these islands. This is their story.
Francis Abbott has been studying the wrecks of Menorca for years and has mapped many of the 420 recorded accidents and incidents that have occurred there. Francis' highly researched text includes stories of shipwrecks old and new; of tragedy, survival and intrigue. It is accompanied by stunning images, maps and plans of the wrecks, together with photographs of marine life and surrounding coastlines.
