It's one of the fastest growing sports in the country. So why does it seem that nobody east of the Avon has ever even heard of it? The Bristol Crew tells us more about their new obsession, Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing.

Extract: You can tell a gig rower from their calloused hands, lop-sided shoulders, and a tell-tale love of sea-shanties. They might also walk with a slight gait after major races, and many will happily tell stories of ^friends^ who have had to soak their underwear off in a hot bath the morning after a big race...
