The development of The National Forest was one of the two main 2020VISION forest assignments. The National Forest covers an area of 200 square miles across Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Nearly 8 million trees have been planted in The National Forest in the last two decades, increasing tree cover from 6% to nearly 20%.
Danny Green, Ben Hall and Ross Hoddinott documented this exciting development which links ancient remnant forests in the heart of England, converting derelict mineworks and farmland to forest and creating a sustainable woodland economy.
