Caption
Grey-headed Flying-fox (Pteropus poliocephalus) in flight just after a belly-dip into the Yarra river at the end of a very hot day. They do this to wet their fur which both acts as a form of evaporative cooling and allows them to quench their thirst by lapping water of it. Yarra Bend Park, Kew, Victoria, Australia.
