The Photographers - David Maitland (25) More files...
Photography has featured prominently throughout David Maitland's life and after gaining his PhD in Zoology he enjoyed a successful academic career in South Africa and the United Kingdom, using photography for both research and teaching before becoming a full-time Nature photographer in 2006.


Specialising in biological form and function, ecology and conservation, David aims to capture the quirkiness in a creature's character and the beauty of Nature in order to highlight the plight many of the World's creatures find themselves in because of Man's activities. His most recent work has taken him to the tropical rainforests of the Americas, Africa and Indonesia, the tundra of Finland and for WWoE to the mountains of Macedonia.
