With a life-long interest in natural history, Laurie Campbell (UK) began photographing wildlife in the early 1970's while still at school and in 1984 after completing a degree course in photography at Napier University in Edinburgh, he became Scotland's first full-time professional nature photographer.
Being a generalist makes him receptive to a wide range of subjects from lichens to golden eagles and it is this which has helped him appreciate how different habitats work and with it, the interdependence between different species. Indeed, he strongly believes in the importance of becoming a better naturalist through taking an interest in a wide variety of subjects, resulting in seeing photographic potential in virtually everything in nature.
