Stefano Unterthiner began wildlife photography in the Italian Alps with his uncle Paolo. Chamois, foxes and black grouse were his first subjects, and the Gran Paradiso National Park his training ground. At 30, having finished his studies in zoology, he decided to take up photography full time, becoming a well-known wildlife photographer in just a few years. Today, his pictures regularly earn him prizes in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and his work has been published by the leading international magazines, such as National Geographic.
